About Us

Jaipur Tiger Festival

Tigers occupy a crucial place in the Indian culture. Since ages, it has been the symbol of magnificence, power, beauty and fierceness and has been associated with bravery and valor. The creature has a significant hold in hindu mythology as the vehicle of Lord Durga.

These beautifically stripped beings are an integral part of the natural ecosystem and a decline in the numbers will start a domino effect and cause a serious threat to all the creatures in the tropic level below and above. The animal, entitled as the national animal, is of great noteworthiness and if we lose then it will be taken as a matter of great loss for the country.

The presence of tigers in the forest is an indicator of the well being of the ecosystem. The extinction of this top predator is an indicator that its ecosystem is not sufficiently protected, and neither would it exist for long thereafter.

If the tigers go extinct, the entire system would collapse. Another reason why we need to save the tiger is that our forests are water catchment areas. Therefore, it’s not just about saving a beautiful animal. It is about making sure that we live a little longer as the forests are known to provide ecological services like clean air, water, pollination, temperature regulation etc

Through the Jaipur Tiger Festival we tend initiate a campaign to create love, compassion and affinity towards tigers in particular and forest in general in the minds of people.
